This Privacy Policy explains how the DB Dictionary mobile application ("the App"), published by DB Square Technology ("we", "us"), handles information. By using the App you agree to the practices described below.
We do not ask for, collect, or store your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information. The App has no account system and no login.
The App is offline-first. The dictionary database, your favourites, your search history, your daily streak, and your theme preference are all stored locally on your device only. This data is never transmitted to us or to any server. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes it.
The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and process certain information, including:
This processing is carried out by Google, not by us; we do not receive this data and cannot identify individual users from it. Google's handling of the data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in your device settings under Settings → Privacy → Ads.
The App requests internet access. This permission is used solely to load advertisements. All dictionary lookups, translations, and learning features work fully offline and do not require a connection.
The App is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
English definitions are derived from Webster's Unabridged Dictionary, which is in the public domain. Hindi and Marathi translations are machine-generated and are provided for learning purposes; they may occasionally be imprecise.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a revised "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
